Inainte de a porni in calatorie e bine sa facem unele pregatiri.

Mai avem o sansa urmarind ofertele last minute.

Ziua 4:

Intai vom merge in vizita in Poiana Brasov, unde vom putea urca cu telecabina spre Varful Postavaru sau Varful Cristianu Mare.

Calatoria noastra va incepe din Bucuresti pana in Brasov, vizitand si imprejurimile orasului Brasov.

Plecarea din Bucuresti se va face vineri in jurul orei 9 dimineata. Vom calatori astfel din Bucuresti vom merge spre

Mogosoaia- Otopeni- Ploiesti-Campina- Sinaia- Busteni- Predeal- pana in  Brasov.

Bine, avem programul nostru.

Cost: 114 euro.

Pasul 2

Calculam distanta si taxe aproximative de combustibil

Vom folosi harta Google.

Adica in total 273 de km, doar dus. Consum intraurban/extraurban/mixt (l/100km): 9.9[11.4] / 5.7[8.1] / 7.2[6.3]

Vom lua in considerare doar scaunul pentru copii.

Total: 45 de euro

Acum sa le adunam:
Inchiriere auto: 114 euro
Combustibil: 56 de euro
Parcare: 21 euro
Taxe aditionale: 45 euro

Tips for the Service car rental

Tips for the Service car rental

For several years, more people turn to car rental services in Bucharest and other cities. Sometimes people do not know what they should do when you want to rent a car and could get nothing more than what they expected. And to avoid these things, I thought it would be better to give some advice.

Most importantly, before starting to search the car you want is to think about exactly where we need it, how many passengers we have, if we have children, if summer or winter and the list goes on depending on individual needs.

And now to begin.
We chose the location, we know how many passengers we have and in what time we will need a car.
1. The first thing choosing a car rental agency, you can contact our Eurocars agency in major cities  or other agents can search on google.

2. When you start to fill in the form of rental cars to pay attention unless they are charged hidden fees such as late payment penalties, gas prices and more.

3. To be aware that car rental must be presented for the same brand and same model as declared in the rental agreement carefully and check the information given on your vehicle registration and check if they correspond with reality.

4. Sometimes discounts are offered to rent a car, follow these discounts and take advantage of them. Discounts are offered if used for payment by credit card, or loyalty  to certain age, one day to four days free rent, special prices for weekends, holidays or unpaid hours between particular times.

5. If the luggage and group size are small, you can consider a smaller car. If you plan to travel with a large or too bulky luggage, you can rent a minibus.

6. Be careful what kind of car you choose. There can not have the manual and you will not be used with the automatic. Or if it is equipped with child seat, GPS and more.

7. If the trip will be on multiple days or want to leave the Romanian territory, read section  across border rentals, be careful if they are not special provisions for renting cars abroad or if the company will grant this right.

8. Ask for a phone number in an emergency to report a fault, if it will occur, or other problems. Asked how such a problem will be solved.
9. Make sure also that the agent inspects the body in your presence and that will put the agreement in respect of any damage.

10. Before leaving the vehicle, check to make sure you do not have personal items left in the car to be pretty hard to recover once the car was returned.

I hope these tips will guide you and will help you choose the right car for your holiday. Expect more tips or if you had some troubles, let us know, maybe we can then avoid those situations.

8. Cereti un numar de telefon in caz de urgenta pentru a anunta o defectiune, in caz ca va aparea, sau pentru alte probleme. Intrebati despre cum va fi solutionata o asemenea problema.

Drum bun!

Why should visit Sibiu?

Why should visit Sibiu?

Romania is the land where all relief forms are tied harmoniously: from imposing mountains to the seaside of the Black Sea, from hills and abundantly plains to the Danube delta…not for nothing the country is called “The Land of Choice” in the new touristic slogan.

Although, for the moment, we don’t excel at the infrastucture chapter, any touristic activity will be taken again, because the Romanian tourism is focused pre-eminently above all, on the natural landscapes and amply history.

As a location where to spend your vacation, I would strongly recommend you Sibiu, maybe the well-known city of the country on international plan, thanks to the title of “international cultural capital”, achieved in 2007, beside Louxembourg. This is the indisputable proof  that our country can be proud, both on culture and tourism’s plan.

How to reach  the destination

In terms of transport to Sibiu, there are a lot of options. If you come from Romania or abroad, and you don’t want to waste your time on the road, you have the airplane option: Sibiu’s International Airport is located 5km West from the town, with direct access on the E81 highway.

Through it, direct links are ensured with intern airports ( Bucuresti, Targu Mures, Timisoara) and also international: Germany, Austria, Spain, Greece, Ukraine, Moldavia and Italy.

If you fall into the bohemian type and you are eager for a closer view of the landscape that our country has to offer you have train’s option, which will allow you to save some money and use them for other activities.

For those who cannot separate from the automobile, going by your own car (or a rented one, Rent a Car in Sibiu is very well developed, renting can be made abroad also) is a safe option. European roads passing through Sibiu are E 68 (Arad – Sibiu – Brasov) and E 81 (Cluj – Sibiu – Pitesti – Bucharest). Not even parking lots will be able to overshadow your stay thanks to the 80 locations equipped with a total of 5051 parking spaces.

Regarding housing, the supply is extremely varied, considering the fact that the tradition of hospitality in Sibiu is the oldest in Romania, the first hotel being certified since 1555. It remains up to you to choose the category (comfort level), framing (apartment, cottage, camping, pensions in Sibiu, hotels in Sibiu, motel or guesthouse) and location, and bids will not disappoint you.

In the “must see” category:

- the museums (Sibiu was the cultural capital with a reason): Brukenthal National Museum, Astra National Museum Complex, Evangelical Church Museum, Steam Locomotives Museum.

- Churches: The Orthodox Cathedral, The Evangelical Church, The Catholic Church, The Ursuline Church, The Franciscan Church, The Church of the pit, The Church Of the trees, The Reformed Church, Church of St. Johannis, St. Elizabeth, St. Luke’s Church, Church Asylum Cross Chapel, Synagogue;

-  the historic center: historical three markets: Large Square, Small Square, Huet Square, Defensive Towers, The walls of the Citadel;

- recreational areas: Sub Arini Park, Astra Park, Grove Nature Park, Sibiu Zoo (the first zoo in Romania), and for audiophiles is necessarily recommended concert of the  Philharmonic State of Sibiu.

Restaurant:

In terms of cuisine, traditional cuisine from this part of the country was influenced by German and Hungarian population. Therefore, in Sibiu are preferred poultry and beef soups with semolina or flour dumplings, homemade noodles, soups meal, cumin or tomatoes soups.

In Sibiu is located the oldest restaurant on the actual territory of Romania, “The Gold Barrel” which is located in the same building in the Stairs Passage since XVI century.

Sibiu offers many options for dining: from selected restaurants to fast food and pizza, it depends  only on the mood you are in.

You have only two things to set: the date and the way in which you want to travel, because Sibiu is eager of tourists to whom showing off his wealth.

Whether you are a fan of hiking or cultural trips or you are simply passing through, Sibiu will make you want to come back anytime!

Romania? Brasov?

Brasov, Romania

Imagine, if you can , that you are going to visit a place or a town in Romania but you are ot sure about what it is like. Related to this problem , I will give you a helping hand to find all the information you need.

Let’s say that you decide to visit Brasov for a week !

Now, let’s see what your options are concerning transport, food, accommodation in Brasov, sights places and entertainment .

The way to travel

First you must choose to travel. You can travel by own car but you should know that usually up in Brasov, you will take many hours of walking, or you can rent a car in Brasov with EuroCars Romania.

Or if you come with friends, rent a minibus driver, who will escape the worries of driving. You can also come by plane, landing in Bucharest Otopeni Airport, Bucharest Baneasa Airport and Sibiu Airport, and the best choice is to go to the airport by train in 3 hours and you’re in Brasov.
At the same time you can travel by train, but this seems a very tedious way.

Accommodation

Secondly, in Brasov you can easy find a place to stay over night. There are a lot of hotels in Brasov, flats, studios to rent or to host with a family. The old center of Brasov hostels are also a good option because at least gives you a breakfast.

As a suggestion we recommend you pre book a hotel room, so you will get rid of care and will enjoy visiting the city without wasting time.

So the food and the place where to stay is your last worry because in Brasov accommodation is not expensive and the conditions are good. I suggest you to host in a guest house or family hotel because you can establish a program without talk into account the meal hours. And you will never be hungry in town because the food specialities are very delicious and the prices are acceptable.

Point of interest

Thirdly, in our town I assure you that you will never feel bored because there are a lot of places to visit and a lot of entertainment everywere you look. You can spend your time visitng some touristical places, you can practice some sports in Poiana Brasov , you can visit Bran  and see Dracula Castel, The Black Church or you can simply have a walk in the old town and admire the buildings. You can take in a concert or go drink something in a pub.

And if the pictures have not convinced you, maybe you’ll be able to convince movie.

In conclusion, I hope I have helped you and you will come to visit Brasov because you have nothing to lose and it’s a perfect holiday place to go, and a week here is not expensive. In my opinion is the perfect place to spend fine because you have what to learn from such a trip.

Hope to see some pictures with you in Brasov!

Most rented car of 2010 in Romania from EuroCars

Your top preferences … we start with the most rented car of 2010 from EuroCars Rent A Car

Small, cheap, ingenious, and reliable…it is the winner of your choices … Peugeot 107. Even if at a first sight it is yellow, than it turns red-brown, and eventually you get the real thing which can take different colors, the important thing is that it is called Peugeot 107, its color being the last thing that has to matter.

Since you all choose Peugeot 107, let’s find out more about this car brand, maybe you will like to know it better before you drive it.

So, here it is: the Peugeot 107 is a city car produced by French automaker Peugeot since mid 2005. The 107 was developed by the B-Zero project of PSA Peugeot Citroën in a joint-venture with Toyota; the Citroën C1 and Toyota Aygo are badge engineered versions of the same car, although the Aygo has more detail differences than the C1. All three are built at the new facilities of the Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile Czech joint-venture in the city of Kolin, Czech Republic.

It is a four-seater available as a three or five-door hatchback. The 107 replaces the 106, which ceased production at the end of 2003 after 12 years.

The rear view of the Peugeot 107 shows the tail light clusters it shares with the Citroën C1, but not with the Toyota Aygo.

* The most basic and cheapest 107 available is the ‘Urban Lite’. Lacking the accessories of higher trim levels, it features manual wind up windows, unpainted wing mirrors, no door protectors and two airbags.

* The ‘Urban’ is considered the most popular trim level for the 107 range. In France, the ‘Urban’ is called the ‘Trendy’.

* An ‘Urban Move’ model was equipped as standard with air conditioning, a rev counter and metallic paint.

* A ‘Sport XS’ trim level was also offered but was deleted from the range in February 2008.In 2008, a ‘Sport’ trim replaced the Sport XS trim.

* A ‘Kiss’ edition was released in partnership with the UK radio station, Kiss FM.

* In Portugal it is offered in a two seater only two door van version, as its Citroën C1 sibling for urban use, equipped with the 1.4L diesel engine.

* Verve (available from 2009 face lift) is similar to the Urban Move models, with air conditioning. However, alloy wheels are now standard, along with exclusive Orange interior trim and new body colors.

The interior now has more choices of fabrics for the seats and the graphics on the center console have been changed slightly. Other improvements made to the car can be found in the engine which now produces 106 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer opposed to 109 before and the fuel economy has been improved from 61 mpg-imp (4.6 L/100 km; 51 mpg-US) to 62.8 mpg-imp (4.50 L/100 km; 52.3 mpg-US) – thank you Wikipedia !!

Let’s see how does the Peugeot behaves when in terms of reliability…Breakdown statistics reported by the German Automobile Club in May 2010 placed the Peugeot 107 (which the data grouped with the Citroën C1 and Toyota Aygo) at the top of the sub-small car class in respect of the low break-down rates achieved for cars aged between 1 and 4 years.(Class laggards were the Chevrolet Matiz (0 – 3 year old cars) and the two seater Smart (4 – 5 year old cars).

The Peugeot 107 cars from out fleet are no older than 4 years, they have been fabricated between 2007 – 2010, all with face lift, the best model in town :) . Here are some general information, that it is 90% sure that you will find when you rent a 107 with Eurocars:

General information

  • Doors number 4+1
  • Passengers number 4
  • Trunk volume 130l
  • Standard features
  • Engine 1.0 E
  • Fuel Gasoline
  • Comfort A/C, Height-adjustable steering wheel
  • Security 2 Airbags
  • Breaking – ABS
  • Audio – Radio CD

As we already found out from this article, maybe you knew it by now, maybe it is new for you as it is to me, differences between Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 or Toyota Aygo are almost unnoticeable. So, when we can’t offer you Peugeot 107 (cause it might just happen), feel free to agree to a C1 or Aygo.. they were all built to satisfy your next desires: small renting price / small guarantee / fuel consumption – as low as possible (it might just work on air :) ) and last but not least, reliability.

Rent it at 22 euros / day for a 4 – 5 day journey (it is still in the available offer) and you will find out what made it the car of 2010.

Second of your choice…will be soon published, but don’t forget: is not the car that makes your journey, it is the way you feel when you drive it, no matter the brand…you’re the only responsible for your well-being!

Rent with EuroCars.ro :)

Rent A Car and drive to Prahova Valley

Rent A Car from EuroCars Romania and drive to Prahova Valley

The easy way to arrive in Prahova Valley is by renting a car from BucharestOtopeni AirportBaneasa Airport or to rent a car from Ploiesti. Usually to road is crowded and put your patience to test, but definitely worth the effort and your reward will come once you arrive at your destination.

The Prahova Valley is a wide, deep cleft carved by the Prahova River into the granite of the southern Carpathians. It is a corridor between Transylvania and Walachia, an ancient route that is traversed today by the railway and a major road. Its breathtaking scenery and pervading sense of history make it a major tourist attraction. The Prahova Valley, in the realm of the Bucegi Massif, is an unforgettable display of the splendors nature most generously holds out. The impression is overwhelming when stepping in its kingdom. The bare Bucegi Massif towers over the forested Prahova Valley with their splendid, various forms. The lines drawn on the sky by their calm, simple crests are in harmony with the Furnica (2 103 m), Jepii Mici (2 148 m), Jepii Mari (2 071 m), Caraiman (2 284 m), Costila (2 498 m) and Vanturis (1 942 m) high peaks.

Prahova Valley highlights – What to See

In the complexity of the Prahova Valley landscape, next to the mighty mountains, stand out also the symbols of a permanent and eternal past materialized in the Sinaia and Predeal monasteries, in the majesty of the Peles Castle in Sinaia is something you wont miss and in so many other witnesses of the past.

Considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe, Peles Castle was the summer residence for Romania’s Kings. Built by King Carol I in 1883 the castle is a masterpiece of German-Renaissance architecture with an exquisite exterior, and is surrounded by fir forests and the towering peaks of the Carpathian range. Its 160 rooms are magnificent; lavishly decorated in ebony, mother of pearl, walnut and leather with crystal chandeliers, fine collections of sculptures, paintings and tapestries, stained glass windows and furniture. It is set within a large park with a statue garden in front. Further up the hill from the main palace is the smaller Pelisor Palace, built for Carol I’s son and decorated in the Art Nouveau style.

Sinaia

Sinaia is situated in the subalpine area and because it is surrounded by large forests of beech and fir, it provides a very clean and fresh air that contains no dusts or smoke. Sinaia is a resort for all ages, in all seasons. It is the ideal resort for the winter sports: ski, snowboarding, sledging, bobsledging on specially built slopes for tourists and contests. There are modern cable cars for the mountain access or ski slopes access.

Also we recommend transfer with tele-cabin at 2000 m altitude to Bucegi Mountain, walking to Sinaia Monastery (where you can find some old icons and old scrolls from the XVII century) and a trip to “Cota 1400″ where you can take the dinner in a lot of taverne with romanian traditional cuisine. Sinaia is one of a few European ski resort where you can find a royal castle, a great casino, 19th Century Hotels as Palace and a great place to spend quality time in clubs, or night clubs.

More Attractions : nice restaurants with Romanian and German specific, German Pub, Bars, Discos – Blue Angel Disco and Black Horse Disco are well-known, swimming pools, sauna and fitness center, billiard, table tennis, Sinaia Casino Palace having billiard and games is a big attraction.

The fancy houses and villas which were built by prestigious architects for the Romanian elite and the other monuments which are situated in parks full of flowers, gave the name of The Pearl of Carpathians to this locality. On an imaginary trip around the famous European palaces, Sinaia would definitely stand among them. All these sights of Prahova Valley and many others are worth seeing at any time of the year.

Busteni

Known as “the alpine paradise” and it is located at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains, the heart of hiking and climbing in the Romanian Carpathians. This resort is a favourite place for mountain lovers in any season. It offers access to 44 different trails in the Bucegi, Leaonta, Garbova, Piatra Mare and Barsei Mountains. Alpine skiing, beginner and advanced, and sledding can be found on natural, untended slopes. You can organize different kind of trips on trails with different levels of difficulty.

A cable car connect Busteni to Babele Chalet. Here you can find unusual rock formations which for many years have put the scientists from around the world to wonder if it is the work of an ancient civilization. Those wind-modeled stone shapes are known as the Sfinx and Babele. This location is considered to be one of special energy, one of earths energy poles. Don’t forget to visit also the Urlatoarea waterfall and the unique Monastery in the cave.

Above Busteni you can see The National Heroes Cross situated in Caraiman Valley, at 2291 meters. This cross was built in 1926 by King Carol in memory of the heroes from the First World War. The height of the cross is 40 meters and it’s the world largest construction of this kind, at this altitude.

Also you can visit here The Cesar Petrescu Memorial Museum, house which was built in Brancovenesc style or you can enjoy a theatre performance at cultural center Unesco.

Poiana Tapului

Situated in the middle of the way between Sinaia and Busteni, the locality Poiana Tapului offers the same spectacular views and fresh air as the rest of the resorts from Prahova Valley but goes ahead them in the serenity and tranquility necessary for a mountain rest owing to the lack of agglomeration.

Azuga

Azuga city and resort is situated between Sinaia international resort (12 km) and Predeal ski resort (6km) at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains ( Carpathians- Transylvanian Alps), elevation 1.110m. In the North-East part of town there is the largest ski facilities in this mountains: Sorica Slope – the biggest in Romania, and Cazacu slope. Ski chairs are on every slope, and at the bottom there are bars, restaurants, ski rentals and cottages.

Azuga and Busteni resorts are recommended for recovery treatment : anaemia, nervous asthenia, physical and intellectual strain.

Comarnic

In Comarnic, in Posada neighbourhood, you can visit the Matha Bibescu Castle.Today it serves as Restoration Centre for Art, and since 1992, inside the new wing there is the Cinegetic Museum of this kind in the country. The Comernic Cave is the biggest cave of Banat (the mountains area in the south western corner of Romania, north of the Danube) and it has three different levels. The tour shows most of the upper level, which is rich in speleothems.

On the way between Predeal and Sinaia, you can stop the car and make some shopping from some small boutiques with romanian traditional items and presents for your friends and family. Another beautiful place is at Posada pass. This used to be a strategic point in the past for the battles between us and the enemies of our country. It was the best way to conquer the battles because of the geographic position and the mountains that surround the region.

Predeal

Predeal could be your base for explore Prahova Valley, mountain trails hike and, in winter, for skiing down the Clabucet and Cioplea slopesand very sunny summers. Predeal Mountain Resort is situated in Transylvania-Romania, 25 km from Brasov, 147km (100miles) from Bucharest. The resort altitude is 1033 m, being Romania’s highest town.

Predeal is a magnet for skiers who want a vast choice of runs combined with the elegance of a truly cosmopolitan resort. The Casa Taraneasca restaurant at B-dul Libertatii 63 is the top place in town; Ceausescu used to dine here and it still serves up fine rustic cuisine such as pheasant soup. Alternatively, Mama Maria, Str. Eminescu 28 (closed Tues), serves good standard Romanian fare, or for those prefering to cater for themselves, there’s a food shop opposite the Hotel Carmen . The Fulg de Nea at Str. Teleferic 1, on the way to the Clabucet chairlift, has the best bar in town, and good food too. The only ATM in town is at the huge modern BRD building south of the centre.

Like Sinaia, Predeal too is a very appreciated romanian ski resort, restaurants with Romanian and German specific, German Pub, Bars, Discos The Office Disco a very appreciated and visited disco on Prahova Valley.

Other propose for Prahova Valley Tour is Curtea de Arges – about 130km northwest of Bucharest, Curtea de Arges is a town held dear by many Romanians. It was the former capital of Walahia in the 14th century, place of highly significant events and buildings for Romanian history.

Here you can visit the ruins of St. Nicoara church (late 13th century) and the church of St. Nicholas, one of the oldest churches in Walachia, with an exceptional ensemble of interior frescoes, witnesses to the rich history of these places.

Curtea de Arges is also a place of pilgrimage for many Romanians. Here stands a legendary church built in 1517 by Prince Neagoe Basarab and Lady Despina. This architecural jewel carries on the legend of Manole the Craftsman. He had to sacrifice his own wife, sealing her alive in the wall so that the construction would stand. This sad ballad tells that a masterpiece cannot be achieved unless hard work and great efforts are incorporated.

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to start with a fresh page!
